The poetry book Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur is truly a masterpiece, and shown through its division into four different parts: the hurting, the loving, the breaking, and the healing. Every one of the four parts focuses on a certain form a self bettering, and an internal, mental understanding, and each page has a new and different poem from the last, with a beautiful, minimalistic image that is drawn to coincide with the message depicted through the poem. The poetry book focuses on the fact that humans are not perfect, and how we are made up of both bad and admirable traits. The main point she stresses, is that both deserve to be loved. One of the most important messages that I took away from the book, is that in order for us to fully heal as individuals, we need to learn to forgive and love all of ourselves, including the broken aspects. I hope that if you read this book, you will also come away with a better understanding of yourself like I have.
