With the temperature dropping, people are starting to stay inside with their pajamas and a cup of their favorite hot drink. Just sit and watch movies as some of the less intelligent people in the neighborhood go out and face the cold wind pounding on their face.

Elf, one of my all time favorite movies, stars Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel and was released on November 7, 2003. It follows Buddy the Elf (Will Ferrell) on his journey from the North Pole to find his biological father. He gets lost in New York and meets other humans, but he is definitely out of place. This is definitely one of my top Christmas movies.

Home Alone, a classic movie series with five movies, stars Macaulay Culkin (Kevin) and was released on November 16, 1990. This movie shows the journey of Kevin McCallister after his family accidently leaves him to go on a “family” trip to Paris. Kevin gets into a little bit of trouble at his family home over the holidays before his mother realizes he’s missing from the bunch and comes home to stay with him. My personal favorite of the series is Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House.

Regardless of your taste in regular movies, Christmas movies are a whole other level. They take you back to your childhood with family traditions. You may normally like horror movies, but Christmas movies will make you laugh and cry all at the same time.
