Things to do in the beautiful Helen, Georgia

Helen is a mountain town in northeast Georgia. The town has a unique history among the many mountain towns set among the Appalachian foothills. Helen also has deep Native American roots, history as a logging town, and is now known for its Bavarian style and culture. Helen is an old German colony. 

Here are some things to do in Helen Georgia

  • Unicoi State Park in Helen Georgia offers a lake and campsites.
  • Trails run through the Chattahoochee National Forest to the Anna Ruby and Raven Cliff waterfalls and Smithgall Woods State Park. Dukes Creek is known for trout. 
  • Hardman Farm State Historic Site includes an 1870 homestead and the Nacoochee Indian Mound burial site.
  • Also this small town has water turbines to have fun in the Chattahoochee River in Georgia.
