Georgians love vacationing in Florida.  Rosemary Beach, Miami, and 30A are all popular beach spots. However, Florida has so much more to offer than just palm trees and Mickey Mouse souvenir shops.

My favorite hidden gem to visit is the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, in Sarasota Florida. This is so much more than a museum, with grounds stretching out to the water, hundred-year-old banyan trees, and Maybel Ringling’s rose garden.

The Ringling Mansion, built up of candy color stained Italian glass, sits right on the bay water overlooking the grounds.

There are two separate museums in the same area, the art museum, and the Ringling Bros Circus Museum. The art section is a beautiful, baby pink, “U” shaped building that wraps around a stunning statue garden, and features old baroque style religious art throughout.

If you are looking for something new to do on the West coast of Florida, John and Mabel’s grounds are a lovely place to spend the day.
