The amount of people and families that have been affected by the coronavirus so far is unbelievable. This virus is spreading very fast and is highly contagious, causing many public figures to become sick. Those who have contracted COVID-19 have spoken out about their symptoms and have shared their thoughts regarding the virus.

It is known that the best way to prevent the virus is to stay home and self-quarantine in order to flatten the curve of the disease growth. Currently, it is a state law to only make excursions to mandatory public places such as grocery stores. Furthermore, people are prohibited to gather in groups larger than ten people, and they should stay six feet apart at all times. Vulture.com states, “As the highly contagious virus spreads, those in the public eye afflicted with coronavirus, who often have access to testing through private physicians, are urging fans and followers to self-isolate.”

Celebrities such as The Jonas Brothers, Billie Eilish, Madison Beer, and many others have stated their opinions and used their large platforms to encourage people to stay in their houses.

Many celebrities have publicly announced that they have tested positive for coronavirus. Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Olga Kurylenko, Idris Elba, Kristopher Hivju, and many more have spoken out about symptoms.

These celebrities have caught the disease by traveling for work, filming movies, etc. Due to these public events having people contaminated, many things have been canceled, some including the March Madness basketball tournament, NFL and college football spring training, and many concerts and large events. All this, not to mention public beaches, have been closed and family vacations across America have been canceled.

Celebrities sharing their thoughts on the important of safeguarding against COVID-19 has made America take it much more seriously. People are prone to follow what the media is telling them and once their favorite actor or artist tells them to stay quarantined, they will most likely follow their instructions. It is good to see influencers use their platform to make change for the better.
