Workout tips for beginners

Over the summer, I decided to buy a gym membership. I was determined to finally try to get into shape. For years I have been telling myself that I will get into shape, but never followed through. Now, I try to work out no less than five day a week, and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Now, I have come up with a few tips to help other people who are just starting to workout.

1. Make sure you are working out for the right reasons. This is very important. You should work out to live a more healthy life, and it is something you want to do. Do not start working out because your mom wants you to, or you are trying to impress the person you like. Do it because you want to.

2. If you are self-conscious about going to a public area to workout you can always workout at home. There are many apps you can get on your phone that provides workouts you can do at home.

3. Remember that people do not pay attention to you at the gym. I feel self-conscious sometimes at the gym that people are watching and judging me. In reality, chances are they are not paying attention to you at all. They might even feel self-conscious themselves.

4. Remember to drink a lot of water every day. I can not stress how important this is. This prevents you from getting dehydrated and helps you feel better during a workout. I try to drink no less than half a gallon of water a day.

5. Do not expect to see instant results. It normally takes a few months to see the results of working out. Do not expect to be super fit after one workout. Do not let this discourage you from continuing to workout. Just keep on doing it.
