Finally, after fifteen years of anticipation, Kanye West dropped Jesus is King. West’s new album focuses on everything Gospel, from features such as Fred Hammond and Kenny G. Throughout the album, West’s lyrics talk about how he stretches his hands to God, and how God brought him towards the right path in his career and put the devil to the side. Fifteen years ago, West said, “there was a time I was letting you know what the Hennessy had done for me, all these things-but now I’m letting you know what Jesus has done for me”.

Overall, I give this album an eight out of ten. My favorite song on the album is “Follow God” where Kanye talks about the love hate relationship between himself and his father. Kanye’s father tells him that arguing and yelling isn’t Christ-like and everyone needs to pray to God. Kanye’s album came out October 25th, so I recommend this album to anyone who enjoys deep messages and shares a passion for Kanye’s musical abilities.
