Important dates for seniors

Between anticipating independence and ignoring assignments, it can be difficult for seniors to keep track of all the important dates and deadlines of graduation activities. Nevertheless, high school isn’t quite finished yet, so there are plenty of events to remember during the months of March, April, and May. 

 

March

March 17 marks the date that most school-specific, local scholarships are due to Ms. Bissett in the counseling office. Click here  to access these helpful scholarship applications. 

 

On March 21, prom is occurring from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center. 

 

Graduation Yard Signs have a first order deadline of March 29. Order here to get yours today. 

 

April

Cap and Gown Distribution takes place in the gym lobby during all lunches on April 14. 

 

Exam exemption forms become available on April 17 in the front office.

 

Starting on April 20, picnic tickets and meal selection for the senior picnic will be available in the front office.

 

Whether you’re cheering on friends or celebrating your own accomplishments, Tom Zachary VIP Awards Night and Honors and Awards Night is happening on April 23. Tom Zachary VIP Awards Night will be in the gym at 6 p.m. and Honors and Awards Night will be at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

 

Exam exemption forms are due on April 24 at promptly 4 p.m. to the AP Office.  

 

Scholarship Award Letters are due to Student Services at 4 p.m. on April 28. 

 

May

 

The BRIDGE Requirement Deadline is at 4 p.m. on May 1. 

 

Surface Tablet Collection takes place from May 4 to May 8 during school hours. 

 

The Yearbook Dedication/Senior Picnic will be at 11:35 a.m. on May 8 in the gym/picnic area.

 

On May 12, first and second period exams will take place, any final transcript requests are due, and the Baccalaureate Rehearsal will occur from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Roswell United Methodist Church.

 

Third and fourth period finals take place on May 13, while fifth and sixth period finals take place on May 14. 

 

Senior Breakfast is on May 18 and will last from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Chick-fil-A, Target Plaza. 

 

Also on May 18, senior clearance will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the gym track level. 

 

Mandatory Graduation Practice, in which graduation tickets will be distributed, is from 8:30 a.m. until dismissal in the gym on May 19. 

At 3 p.m. at Roswell United Methodist Church on May 19, the Baccalaureate Service will occur. 

Additionally, on May 19, the graduation ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Ameris Bank Amphitheater, with diploma pick-up following the ceremony. 

 

Enjoy your new-found freedom and accomplishments, but be sure to not miss any celebrations or deadlines!
