Fun places to visit in Georgia

Cecilia Rubio

Looking for somewhere to adventure on the weekends? Georgia has many fun places you can visit, both near and far. So grab a friend and head out to these locations next time you’re bored.

If you’re looking for somewhere you can get outdoors, Amicalola Falls is a great place to take a hike and visit the highest waterfall in Georgia. It is located in Dawsonville, Georgia and costs only $5 to get into the park. Another good experience is the Georgia Aquarium downtown. Here you can see a large range of ocean and freshwater animals such as bottlenose dolphins, whale sharks, and beluga whales. Right around the corner is the World of Coke. Here, you can learn about the history of Coca-Cola, as well as try some foreign Coke products served around the world.

A further location is Savannah, Georgia which would be best suited for a weekend away. It is about 4 hours away from Atlanta and is filled with activities for anyone. You can explore the historic district, take ghost tours, and go on river boat tours. Savannah is also home to many movie production locations, such as ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘The Last Song’, if you’re interested in film.

Georgia has lots to offer to many, no matter how far you can venture out. So next time you need something to do on the weekends, hit up one of these spots and many more to stay busy and have fun.
