Country singer Morgan Wallen was scheduled to perform on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 10, 2020. However, after videos on social media circulated of Wallen partying after the Alabama-Texas A&M football game, SNL retracted their offer to perform.

The cause for concern was that Wallen was not wearing a mask or practicing social distancing while on the Tuscaloosa campus. Multiple Alabama students recorded TikToks with Wallen. They were drinking, dancing, and even kissing in the videos that went viral and resulted in Wallen’s dismissal from the show.

SNL producer Lorne Michaels did say that the singer of hits like “Chasin’ You,” “Up Down,” and “7 Summers” would be given a second chance sometime in the future. In the meantime, Jack White replaced Wallen as the musical guest.

Morgan Wallen released a statement apologizing for his actions and telling his fans that he would be taking time off to improve and develop himself. It seems that Morgan Wallen has learned his lesson and will hopefully do better in the future.
