Youtubers are leaving the Platform
February 11, 2021
It is no secret that COVID-19 has made a major impact on many people’s lives in a negative way. However, for many Youtubers, the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine has allowed their career to thrive. Youtube is one of the few jobs that were not really impacted by COVID-19 and for some, the pandemic has helped their channel do better than the years pre-COVID-19. Although the pandemic has helped many channels, some creators (mainly creators who have been on the app for many years) have decided to take a step back from Youtube and focus on their mental health.
Some creators who have left or are taking a break are:
- Alex Wassabi, who has been on the platform for 15 years
- Lauren Riihimaki ( username LaurDIY), who has been on the platform for 10 years
- Jenna Marbles, has also been on the platform for 10 years
- Dolan Twins have been on the platform for five years
Some Youtubers plan on coming back to the platform after a couple of months off. Others, including Jenna Marbles, have decided to fully leave the platform and never return.

This is a great article. Sad to hear this as I know many people that have followed these people on Youtube. However, mental health is very important and that sounds like a good plan for them to follow.

Extremely sad to hear about some of these youtubers leaving YouTube since I grew up watching them, along with many others my age.
