Bruster’s: Special Scoops

Claire Mulkey, Director of Communication

Expect a huge surge in customers this week at Bruster’s Real Ice Cream: there’s a fresh batch of Graham Central Station ready to be gobbled up! Graham is one of, if not the, top selling ice cream flavors at the Roswell Highway 92 location. The flavor is not considered a “regular” flavor at Bruster’s, so when it is made, there is a mad rush to get a scoop- or a half-gallon!

Graham Central Station is a graham cracker flavored ice cream with a graham cracker swirl and chocolate chips sprinkled throughout. The swirl of graham cracker is sweet and grainy, and customers can never get enough! Graham crust is also featured in flavors like Key Lime Pie, New York Cheesecake, and Peanut Butter and Graham. It is definitely a fan favorite. Bruster’s employee and Roswell High School senior Zeigler says that Graham Central Station is “hands down the best flavor at Bruster’s.” She loves the way all of the flavors and textures complement each other. If you are having a bad day, Graham Central Station will “cheer you up on any day,” says Zeigler.

I am also employed at Bruster’s, making and serving the ice cream. As an ice cream maker, I understand why Graham Central Station is not made often. Flavors with two or more mix-ins are difficult, because they require you to stop and start the ice cream dispenser machine many times. Since it is one of the more complicated flavors to make, it is not always available. Customers wish that Graham Central Station was a staple flavor and often call in to ask if it is in stock. However, its rare appearance at Bruster’s is one of the factors that makes Graham Central Station so desirable.

Before writing this piece, I had a cup of Graham Central Station, just to make sure everything I said about the flavor still rang true. It did! I give Graham Central Station a 9.5/10 rating. Stay tuned for next month’s special flavor review!
