“Guardians of the Galaxy” has it all, the laughs, the cries, and even action! When I first heard that “Guardians of the Galaxy” was coming out in 2014, I was so excited and had very high expectations from reading the comics, and it did not disappoint. This movie is easily one of my favorite Marvel movies, from the graphics to the amazing soundtrack, I was hooked from the very start. They cast this movie perfectly, and I could not think of anyone better that could play Peter Quill, also known as Star-lord.

Chris Pratt’s character ”Star-lord” and Rocket, a talking raccoon, aren’t the oddest of this interstellar posse’s unintended pals. Gamora, played by Zoe Saldana, is a sneaky warrior princess who has been hiding in a cruel family before uncovering her good intentions. Drax, played by WWE superstar Dave Bautista, is a vengeance-driven behemoth whose florid language only serves to cover up his incapability to take anything seriously, and Rockets’ “muscle.” Finally, Groot is a walking and talking tree. The fact that their mission, to save the universe from a mass-murdering sociopath who seeks an item that will grant him unthinkable mass-murdering power, is generic in a way that is consistent with movies of this type, does not detract from the fact that these guys are amusingly motley.

I cannot get over how well they executed this movie and how attached I got to the characters. Rocket was my favorite character; I mean c’mon he’s a talking raccoon with guns! The movie is family-friendly although there is some foul language played into it, but I say it’s worth it. I have no complaints and will watch this movie over and over again and never get bored of it. Overall, I would have to rate this movie a 10/10.
