Review: San Diego, California

Emerson Keith, Editor-in-Chief

When you hear the word “California” you probably think of designer clothes, expensive restaurants, and celebrities galore, but in reality, it’s so much more than that. Luckily, I have had the opportunity to experience the beautiful California recently.

California is quite the place to be. There are tons and tons of tourist attractions all around, it’s hard to pick a final destination. Luckily, we got to visit one of the most know places: San Diego.

San Diego offers many tourist attractions, as well as many other cities in California. One of the places that San Diego includes is La Jolla. Not only does La Jolla have a beautiful view with great shops and restaurants, but they also have super fun opportunities like a kayak tour into a cove with the amazing wildlife surrounding you. This was an amazing adventure that I had never experienced before and would love to do again.

The tour guides were great and gave tons of information on the history of La Jolla and its attractions such as this one. I never expected that I would be paddling a little boat right next to a giant sea lion on a rock.

We ended up in downtown La Jolla one day to shop and explore the town a little bit more. There were golf cart rentals, bookstores, and coffee shops all over.

For the rest of the trip, we ended up staying more locally for the rest of the trip right next to Belmont Park. In Belmont Park there were many amusement rides, restaurants, and small businesses setting up tents down the sidewalk. From 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., the sidewalk was filled with people and the sound of the ocean’s waves and different music from different tents.

This whole trip was so much fun and a totally different vibe from what we have here in Atlanta. I would absolutely love to go back across the country for San Diego and the amazing time I had.
