Although Roswell baseball finished the regular season strongly, their 2025 campaign has now ended after a disappointing first-round loss.
Heading into the playoffs, the Hornets ranked first in the division and looked to go deep into the postseason. However, with struggles on the mound, the team lost to the Lassiter Trojans in a 3-game series.
The First game was a struggle. Lassiter’s hit rotation was unstoppable in the latter of the contest, earning the Trojans the first win of the series 12-3. The following game was an ideal bounce-back for the Hornets, with Junior David Altman pitching a no-run performance. Despite the rally in game two, Roswell’s final game collapsed, with inconsistent pitching being the season’s biggest flaw.
Following the loss, the team will seek to find talent all across the field, with all but four players leaving for university.
Juniors second baseman Trey Smith, catcher Chase Tuggle, pitcher David Altman, and Sophomore Ayden North will continue to play crucial roles on the team.

Nevertheless, the departures of upperclassmen such as pitcher Nick Bake and DH Vance Manenti will be significant for next year’s team.
Fans will see new faces next year, with rising Juniors such as Carter Deaton and Cooper Ingram expected to move up to varsity.
“We have a great core to work with, and people should expect a great season and a playoff spot next year.” Rising Senior Andrew Aucoin said when asked about what we can expect in 2026.
A lot will be changed on the team heading into the 2026 season, which may be warranted. Although the team posted a 20-9 record to end the year, team chemistry among the players and coaches seemed to be an issue. A fresh group of kids could lead to a better team mindset moving forward.
