On Nov. 20, the fifth Democratic presidential debate will be held at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta Georgia, and will run from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET. Co-hosting the debate will be the Washington Post and MSNBC. The debate will also be streamed live on washingtonpost.com, and MSNBC.com. After the last debate in Westerville, Ohio, the moderators felt as if certain candidates got more time to speak than others. The New York Times stated, “Sen. Elizabeth Warren lapped the field, speaking for 22 minutes, 47 seconds” and that “former Vice President Joe Biden also spoke for more than 16 minutes”. This time around, the moderators will try to distribute minutes evenly between the Candidates with new rules: no opening statements, seventy five seconds to answer, forty five seconds for follow-ups at moderator’s discretion and seventy seconds for closing arguments. The panel of moderators include MSNBC host Rachel Maddow and Andrea Mitchell as well as NBC News reporter Kristen Welker.

In this debate, the topic of discussion for the candidates is the rising issue of balance. The ten candidates participating are former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Businessman Tom Steyer, Businessman Andrew Yang, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont , Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey, Sen. Kamala Harris of California, Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana. For the upcoming debate, it isn’t that easy to get tickets. For a chance at securing yourself a ticket, you can contact the Democratic National Committee or, on the DNC website, you can complete a form. In this form you must give the following information such as your phone number, email, and zip code. On the form it states that there is limited seating and most requests will not be possible to modify.

“The debate in Atlanta is big for our city. It shows that we are not just a music city, and we are capable of other things, so tune in to this debate,”  said sophomore Boubacar Diallo.
