In high school, thinking and planning your future is inevitable. Especially in junior and senior year, many students are planning for their careers, colleges or endeavors. Sometimes it feels impossible to succeed or achieve what you want to do. But there are many people who were once students just like us and now have successful careers. I interviewed Scott Blair, a graduate of Roswell High School, to discuss his immense success after high school.

Blair graduated with the class of ‘98. His high school years were memorable, enjoyable and something he looks back on fondly. “I still have my friends from school, I still remember driving to school every morning…when I got my first spot in the senior lot,” Blair remembered. It’s evident these are cherished memories, as a smile appears on his face as he speaks. He felt that many experiences shaped his future and left him with a good foundation. Many of his friends were the reason he moved to California, where he currently lives and works.“My buddies convinced me to go out there. We found a nice little place in Santa Monica,” said Blair.

This move led to his job as Vice-President of Finance and Operations at Activision. For 13 years, Blair has seen the company grow and flourish, with the popularity of games such as Call of Duty and Skylanders. These hit video games put Activision on the map. “Being able to experience something like the growth of Call of Duty which has gone from a really small game to  pop culture phenomenon…that’s really rewarding,” Blair said. When not running the finances of one of the biggest video-game companies in the world, Blair enjoys surfing and spending time with his family. When asked what was the most rewarding part of his life, the very first subject he mentioned was his family. “Probably the two most rewarding experiences of my life so far were; one: the day I got married and two: the day my kids were born,” said Blair. This is a true testament to the man he is, one who values friends and family above all else. He is truly a perfect example of Roswell integrity.
