With October in full swing and Halloween being just around the corner, I thought it was the perfect time to try out some Essie Nail Polish but with a little bit of a spooky twist. I am switching between an orange and black Essie nail polish on my nails and seeing how the popular, yet affordable nail polish holds up after a full week of school and cross-country practice.

Each bottle of Essie nail polish is packaged with the same style and font; however, each color has a unique name. The black I will be using is titled, “Licorice” and the orange I’ll be painting with is called, “Tangerine Tease.” Both polishes applied effortlessly, but the black one was a little thinner than I had hoped, and I ended up having to do a second and third coat for an opaque finish.

Essie’s “Tangerine Tease” is a bright orange perfect for fall.

After a full week of my nails painted black and orange, the integrity of the polish stood up pretty well as I only had a few fingernails where the polish had chipped. One thing I noticed was that around the second or third day of wearing it, both colors looked a little bit dull, and I wanted to repaint them.

Overall, I would say Essie nailed it with a rating of 7/10 because of the compliments I received and the range of colors that were available. This polish did not receive a higher score because all though it lasted well throughout week, I was dying to repaint them after the fourth day to brighten up the colors and repair the chipping. I would recommend this nail polish to those who paint their nails often, as it needs to be refreshed and those who are looking for a subtle Halloween nail look!
