Kane Brown’s country music career skyrocketed in 2016, with his debut album, “Kane Brown”, on Jan. 24, 2025, he released his fourth studio album, “The High Road” consisting of 18 songs, totaling 58 minutes. The songs range from slow and emotional like, “Says I Can,” and “3,” to more upbeat songs like, “Fiddle in the Band,” and “Miles On It.” The album is a journey through love, personal growth, and gratitude.
On Browns debut album, songs like, “What Ifs” (feat. Lauren Alaina), “Better Place”, and “Comeback” caught the public’s attention, his pop-country style and being centered around his family has caused younger generations to fall in love with him and his music. He often posts with his wife and adorable kids and generally seems like a really great person that people can relate to.
Many of the songs touch on overcoming obstacles and celebrating the highs in life while others dig deeper into emotional vulnerability, allowing listeners to further feel connected. There are five features on the album, including his own wife, Katelyn Brown, on the song, “Body Talk.” Other features include big country music names, Brad Paisley and Jelly Roll.
My favorite song would have to be, “Do us Apart” featuring Katelyn Brown. It is a beautiful song about Kane and Katelyn’s love story and how their love will go on even after death. Lyrics like “even death won’t do us apart” and “Even on the day that He calls me home, no, I won’t be far” express how strong their love for each other is. They sing about how they are taking advantage of everyday together and they know that in the life after this, they will still be together.
Brown is planning a tour for his new album in March of 2025. This album marks a big step in his musical journey, as he partnered with big name musicians. It blends with different styles of music, and shows his willingness to try out new music, while staying true to his roots.
I would give this album ⅘ stars because I really loved the more emotional songs, and appreciated how many tracks were on the album, so there’s a song for everyone. Though Brown is only 31, just starting off his career, I know he has great things to come, and I can’t wait to see where his journey takes him.
