PromGirl- 

PromGirl is a site for prom dresses only. They have a varied price range and plus-size dresses as well.

When all fails one can go to the mall for an in-person experience.

Macy’s- 

Macy’s is a department store that holds a variety of goods, but also sells formal wear. It generally holds more traditional prom or formal dresses for a decent price.

Nordstrom is another department store with classic prom dresses in all forms. Dresses can range from designer to simple brands.
