As the spring semester comes to an end spring sports are gearing up for the most important and competitive part of their seasons. Region playoffs have arrived and some are hoping to make it to state.

Boys lacrosse: The boys have been undefeated this season and have had an action-packed season of last minute scoring shots and goals. The boys head into playoffs with a good chance at a state playoff seed. While winning their region a couple of weeks ago, we can see a successful playoff season ahead.

Boys soccer: The team has had an amazing season and have scored a spot in playoffs. They have had some amazing games with even better action goals and plays. They have five players from there team made it to the 2019 all region team along with Emanuel Artega, Barrett Cameron, CJ Ryan, Daniel Rameriez and scholar athlete Nick Greene. With the team’s amazing regular season, the team has another game May 2 at North Cobb High School.

Varsity track: The team had their big region meet this past week and they performed well in all their events, boys and girls, across the board. The boys came in second overall at the meet. The team has seventeen athletes going to region next weekend at Archer High school. “I hope the boys and I can make it to state and bring home some rings and PR’S,” says senior Jeremy Slaughter.

The region schedules have not been posted yet so keep track of the coverage on the sting twitter and the RHS school website and morning announcements and the sports Instagram page. Good luck, Hornets!
