A Dive into ‘The Naturals’
Roswell Book Critic

The Naturals is a new popular book within a four-book series.  It was released on November 5th, 2013, by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. It is a mystery thriller, romance, and crime young adult book. The book has a 4.19 out of 5-star rating on Goodreads. The Naturals (The Naturals, #1) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes | Goodreads.

Cassie is a seventeen-year-old girl who has a special talent. She is a natural at reading people. She can look at you and uncover who you are and the type of personality you have. The FBI recruited her to use her skills to help solve murder cases. She lives in a house with a bunch of other kids who have natural abilities also. A side plot in the story is, as she meets the others in her house, she develops a slight romantic relationship between two different guys. As the story goes on, she becomes more in danger as she realizes a murderer is after her.  As time unfolds, she realizes the program isn’t all what it seems.

I would recommend reading this book if you are interested in murder mystery and light thriller books. The book is not a big commitment because it is only 308 pages. The series starts with “The Naturals” and is followed by, “Killer instinct”, “All In” and “Bad Blood.” Each book is a new plot with the same characters and leads on from the previous book. This book is most popular for teenage girls. The age range for the book would be around 13+ years old because it includes slightly detailed gore and violence.

Freshman Ella Parmele said, “I would rate this book a four out of five stars. I found it very interesting. My favorite part about the book was when we met the main characters and their abilities. I already read the whole series.”

This addicting book has gained popularity because of its emotional depth, fact-based plot, suspense and the teen protagonists. This is an amazing book, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a great read.
