3 great drinks for the summer
Living in the south means that the weather isn’t as normal as other regions. Specifically, in Georgia, it often stays hotter for longer, sometimes a bit into the fall season. So, while I wait for the colder weather to roll in, I created some cold drinks to sip on.
Crazy Chocolate Chai
Chai is a delicious drink served hot or iced. But something that makes it even better is chocolate. I took one of my favorite chai concentrates, Rishi, and mixed half of it with chocolate syrup. After that was thoroughly mixed, I added it to a half cup of milk. After stirring, I poured it over ice. This resulted in a great cold drink for when you are in the mood for something sweet.
Lazy Cherry Lemonade
I always believe there is an easier way to do things. Using lemonade powder is a quick way to make a nice, cold glass of lemonade fast. But this recipe takes lemonade to a new level. First, I mixed half a scoop of lemonade powder and water. I set this mixture aside and filled a glass with ice and then added 6 pitted cherries to the glass. Next, I poured the lemonade mixture over the ice and cherries and stirred. This drink is perfect for outdoor gatherings and picnics!
Sunset Smoothie
Smoothies are a staple for the hot weather. But sometimes it can get monotonous to have the same strawberry and banana drink. So, I created a smoothie with some different summer fruits. I used a hand blender to blend ice, 2 ounces of orange juice, ⅓ of a nectarine, 8 raspberries and 14 blackberries. After thoroughly blending this mixture together, I had a gorgeous, antioxidant rich smoothie.
