One of the most popular shoe brands right now are Ugg boots. The shoe is popular amongst girls and boys. All ages enjoy wearing these shoes, because they are so comfortable and come in hundreds of different styles and colors.
For a little bit of background, Ugg is an Australian brand founded by surfers Brian Smit and Doug Jensen. The brand was most popular in coastal beach towns, specifically San Diego and Santa Cruz. Therefore, how did this beach-made footwear turn into an everyday staple for people all over the country wear and love for so many years?
Well, Ugg started becoming popular in the late 1990’s. By the early 2000’s, Uggs had taken the fashion world by storm. The different styles of Uggs have changed over the years, but the brand remains well-known. In the beginning, tall boots were the most popular. People could purchase them in a variety of colors and styles. Some even glittery or with bows on the back of the boot.
As time moved on, the tall boots have become less popular and short boots are all the rage. The Ugg minis have grown tremendously in popularity and are usually sold out. In addition, Ugg slippers have grown to be everyday shoes and not just a “around the house” shoe. People are wearing Ugg slippers out in public to school, stores, restaurants, etc. It is debatable whether wearing these slippers in public is appropriate.
Ugg boots have become a cultural phenomenon, known for their distinctive style and comfort. Despite fluctuating trends, Ugg boots have maintained a loyal following and continue to be a go-to for comfort and warmth. As Uggs continue to grow and spark, I feel as though they will never go out of style.
